This is the Last Will and Testament of me Mary CROSS of the parish of Haselbury Bryant in the County of Dorset, singlewoman (which is as follows)
First, I give, devise and bequeath unto my niece Ann DAVIS, wife of Edward DAVIS, the sum of twenty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain, likewise I give unto her a Holland sheet.
Also I give, devise and bequeath unto Rose HARDY, wife of Thomas HARDY, one other niece, the like sum of twenty pounds and one other of my Holland sheets and a green and white satin gown.
Also I give unto three children of my deceased niece Mary ROSE, which was the wife of Samuel ROSE (Thomas, Mary and Christian) to Thomas six pounds, to Mary and Christian seven pounds each.
Also I give to Thomas ROLLS, the son of my nephew Thomas ROLLS, one silver tablespoon.
I give to Richard ROLLS another of the sons of my aforesaid nephew Thomas ROLLS, one other silver tablespoon.
Also I give to Elizabeth MILLER, daughter of my niece Susanna SHITTLER, my bed, bed-steed, curtains and all that to it belong and likewise, one chest of drawers.
Also I give to Mary BARNS, one other of the daughters of my niece Susanna SHITTLER, a night stool.
Also I give to Samuel ROSE, one large oak chest.
Also I give to Mary CHAPMAN, one of the daughters of my nephew Richard CHAPMAN, my yellow broiler gown.
And all the rest, residue and remainder of my monies, goods and effects or money that shall then become due to me whatsoever or wheresoever and what nature or kind soever, the same may be which I shall be possessed of at the time of my decease, I give, devise and bequeath unto Richard SHITTLER Senior, the husband of my aforesaid niece, Susanna SHITTLER and I do hereby constitute, nominate and appoint the aforesaid Richard SHITTLER the Elder, Yeoman in the parish of Haselbury Bryant, my sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament and my Will and meaning is that the above mentioned legacies shall be paid the next day after my burial but if my niece Susanna SHITTLER should happen to die before me, then I Will that my Executor, the aforesaid Richard SHITTLER, shall pay the sum of twenty pounds more than what is above given out of the residue or remainder of the effects and to be equally divided between the three daughters of my niece, Susanna SHITTLER (viz) Ann, Mary and Elizabeth.
And I do hereby disannul, revoke and make void all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made, declaring this only to be my Last Will and Testamant.
In witness, I Mary CROSS, the Testatrix have set my hand and seal the nineteenth day of May in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and eight.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Testatrix Mary CROSS to be her Last Will and Testament in the sight and presence of us, who in her presence at her request, have subscribed our names as witnesses to her so doing.

The within written Will of Mary Cross deceased, was proved by the oath of Richard SHITTLER the Elder, the sole Executor therein named to whom Administration of all and singular the goods, chattles and credits of the said deceased was granted, he being first duly sworn, well and faithfully to Administer the same, to exhibit a true and perfect Inventory thereof, into the Registry of the Consistory Court of the Lord Bishop of Bristol and to render a just account thereon when thereto lawfully required and that the whole of the goods, chattels and credits of the said Mary CROSS deceased, do not amount in value to the sum of two hundred pounds.
