The Tarrant Parishes
These photographs are made possible by the kind contributions of the people indicated. Further contributions for any of the parishes are always welcome, whether the church, village views, landscapes, monumental stones or old photos of previous residents of the parish.
A view of St Mary's Tarrant Hinton, taken whilst walking up the side road towards it. | A view of the interior of the church, looking towards the chancel |
The east end of Tarrant Hinton church showing part of the burial ground | Near the porch of Tarrant Hinton Church is the Norman Font. It is made of Purbeck Marble which despite it's name is a type of limestone. The wooden cover dates from the 17th century. Above the font stands the figure of the Good Shepherd to remind us of the care with which He tends his flock. |
