Of me George ELMES of Forthington in the County of Dorset Gentleman made and published this twentieth day of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy One. Impremis: I bequeath unto Robert ELMES the Elder of Wareham in the said County Taylor the sum of one hundred pounds Item: I give and bequeath to Robert ELMES; George ELMES and Thomas ELMES and also to Sarah ELMES and Mary ELMES the sons and daughters of the said Robert ELMES the elder the sum of forty pounds each. The said legacies to George ELMES and Thomas ELMES to be paid at their attaining their respective ages of twenty one years and in case of the deaths of the said George ELMES or Thomas ELMES before their attaining their said age of twenty one years Then I do direct the share of him so dying under age to be paid to and divided amongst their surviving brothers and sisters share and share alike. Item: I give and bequeath to George FRAMPTON of East Morden in the said County taylor and his sister Elizabeth FRAMPTON the sum of forty pounds each Item: I give and bequeath to Elizabeth ELMES and Susanna ELMES her sister of east Morden aforesaid my Neices and the daughters of my brother Robert ELMES the sum of forty pounds each Item: I give and bequeath to George ELMES and his three sisters the son and daughters of Thomas ELMES of Knowle in the Isle of Purbeck and said County aforesaid carpenter the sum of forty pounds each Item: I give and bequeath to theb two sons and also to the daughter of George LILLEY and Joyce his wife late of Morden aforesaid both deceased the sum of Twenty Pounds each Item: I give and bequeath to the said Thomas ELMES the elder of Knowle aforesaid his heirs and assigns for ever All that my Messuage a Tenement and Lands with their appurtenances situate at east Morden aforesaid and at or near Wareham aforesaid now in the occupation of Thomas BARNES and Robert HARRIS All the Rest and Residue of my personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind forever I give and bequeath unto the siad Thomas ELMES the Elder of Knowle aforesaid and also to Thomas ELMES the Younger his son equally share and share alike and do hereby make and appoint them the said Thomas ELMES the Elder and Thomas ELMES the Younger joint executors of this may Last Will & Testament In Witness: whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal the day and year first above written The mark X of George ELMES Signed Sealed published & Declared Edith Stickland Lucia Templeman John Templeman On the 5th of October this Will of George ELMES deceased was proved by the oath of Thomas ELMES the Younger one of the Executors above named to whom Administration of all and Singular the doods chattles and credits of the said Deceased was granted he being first duly sworn well and faithfully to administer the same also to exhibit a true and perfect inventory thereof into the Registry of the Archdeacon of Dorset and render a just [accompt] thereon when therto lawfully required (power being reserved to make the like grant to Thomas ELMES the Elder the other executor).
