Know All Men: by these presents that I John PROWSE the elder of Weymouth and Melcombe Regis in the County of Dorset mariner and father of John PROWSE the younger late of the same place mariner deceased Intestate do hereby renounce and relinquish the administration of the goods and chattles late of the said intestate
And: I do devise that the same administration may be granted unto Richard PROWSE of Dorchester cooper my son and brother of the said intestate
And: I do hereby authorise and appoint Thomas Fitzherbert and Christopher Barnett Gentlemen my true and lawful Proctors and either of them jointly and severally for me and in my name to exhibit this my Renunciation and produce the same to be duly admitted and allowed And to do and singular other act and acts requisite and necessary to be done in the premises as fully
and amply as I
myself might do if I were personally present ratifying confirming and allowing All and whatsoever my said Proctors
or either of them shall do or cause to be done by virtue of these presents.

Genealogical Notes:-
(1). John PROWSE the younger was baptised the son of John & Elizabeth PROWSE at Melcombe Regis on 18th Feb 1681. His younger brother Richard PROWSE was baptised there on 11th April 1688 and in 1740 was living in Dorchester working as a cooper.
(2). Richard PROWSE from Weymouth married at St Peters Church in Dorchester to Sarah WHITE on 16th April 1731. Link to marriage record listing their children. |
