I Thomas POOK of Dorchester in the County of Dorset Gardener do this twenty Seventh day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy one make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say First: I give unto my son John POOK all my wearing apparell of the woolen kind only Also: I give unto my daughter Mary the wife of Thomas WHETHAM One Guinea All the Rest Residue and Remainder: of my goods chattles and personal estate of what nature or kind soever and whereever (after all my just debts legacies and funeral expenses are fully satisfied and paid ) I give unto my daughter Ann POOK whom I do hereby appoint sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills by me made In Testimony whereof I have hereuntpo set my hand and seal the day and year first above written. Signed Sealed published and declared Proved:- On the twenty seventh day in the year of Our Lord 1776 the within written Will of Thomas POOK late of Dorchester deceased was proved by the oath of Ann POOK the lawful daughter of the deceased and sole executrix within named to whom Administration of all and singular the goods chattles and credits of the said deceased was granted She being first dulysworn faithfully to administer the same and to exhibit a true and perfect Inventory thereof into the Registry of teh Archdeacon of Dorset under a true and just account thereon when before me this twenty seventh of August 1776 John HUBBOCK surrogate Genealogical Notes:- (1) Thomas POOK who was Serjeant at Mace for Dorchester was buried at Holy Trinity Church Dorchester on 16 Feb 1776 (2) His daughter Mary POOK married Thomas WHETHAM at Holy Trinity Church dorchester on 20th August 1769 |
